THIRD GRADE

In grade 3 we learn a lot. We begin to write in cursive. We work with fractions and multiplication. We spend a lot of time on our state, Massachusetts - it's cities, towns, geography, and history.
In science we really get into the real definition of weather - air temperature, moisture, wind speed and direction, and precipitation make up the weather in a particular place and time. We learn about precipitation, jet stream, global currents, and climate. We learn about planets, too.
In life science we classify living things, we study their structures and functions, life cycles, habitats, histories, and interactions with their environments. We discuss properties of materials and classify properties according to those properties in our physical science units and work with simple machines in our technology and engineering unit.
