FIRST GRADE
Grade 1 is a busy year. Along with all the expected skills, we also learn about true stories and folk tales from around the world.
In science we learn about weather and the sun, plants and animals, properties of objects, and materials and tools.
We learn about time and days, weeks, months, years, and seasons. We learn about our country and it's Pledge, songs, holidays and traditions. We learn about our country using maps, remembering famous people, talking about its rivers and lakes and oceans, its mountains, too.
We talk about history and geography including the North Pole and the South Pole. We talk about different religions and customs. We talk about products people buy and why different people buy different things.
